How Go-Pak is Positioned to Support our Partners Through the 2025 U.S. Tariff Changes

Tariff Update – What You Need to Know

At Go-Pak, agility is at the heart of everything we do. As an award-winning, forward-thinking manufacturer with established production sites in Vietnam, we work hard to be responsive, resilient, and ready to adapt in a rapidly changing global environment.

Over the past several months, we’ve been closely monitoring the evolving trade landscape, particularly the developments surrounding proposed U.S. tariffs on imports from a wide range of countries across the world. We’ve engaged with industry experts, reviewed potential scenarios, and taken proactive steps to ensure our operations remain stable and dependable.

We understand that shifts in trade policy can create uncertainty for our partners. That’s why we want to reassure you that we are not only prepared – we are strategically positioned to support your business through these changes. Our presence in Vietnam gives us a unique advantage, and we’re committed to turning that advantage into continued value for you.

Tariff Update – What You Need to Know

August 1, 2025, the U.S. government has announced a new wave of tariffs on imports from multiple countries. These measures are part of a ‘reciprocal tariff’ strategy announced by U.S. President Donald Trump on April 2, 2025 – a date he named ‘Liberation Day’, aimed at encouraging domestic production and addressing trade imbalances.

Several countries are still in talks with the U.S. and have not yet finalised their tariff agreements. These include Australia, Canada, Mexico, South Africa, and Russia. China is currently operating under a temporary 90-day deal that’s due to expire shortly, leaving its long-term trade status uncertain. With so many regions still facing ambiguity, sourcing from countries with confirmed agreements offers businesses a greater sense of stability and predictability in the months ahead.

Vietnam – home to Go-Pak’s core manufacturing operations – has been assigned a 20% tariff rate, significantly lower than the originally proposed figure. This rate applies to most Vietnamese-origin exports, with a higher 40% tariff targeting goods transhipped through Vietnam from other countries. What This Means for You

Vietnam’s tariff rate is confirmed at 20%, compared to significantly higher rates imposed on other manufacturing regions. This positions Go-Pak to offer a more stable, cost-effective, and reliable supply chain for our U.S. customers during a time of global trade disruption.

Because our operations are fully integrated in Vietnam – not reliant on transhipped goods – our customers benefit from greater transparency, compliance, and predictability in pricing and delivery. This is especially valuable as many competitors face increased scrutiny and costs due to transshipment practices.

In addition to our Vietnam operations, other companies within our group operate under Thai ownership – currently subject to a 19% tariff – further strengthening our footprint and ability to offer flexible sourcing options.
