The Foodservice landscape is shifting around the globe

“The Foodservice landscape is shifting around the globe. Supply chains are evolving, customers needs and tastes are changing. Since the phased re-opening of the hospitality sector we have undoubtedly seen a shift in our UK and European Foodservice business. On one end of the spectrum sales in the high street coffee chains have fallen due to reduced footfall in the cities yet our suburban QSR business has been steady and inline with Pre-COVID sales. Whilst the contract catering sector has seen a big hit, particularly in the B and I sector the cash and carry / wholesale sector has been very resilient and seen spikes in sales particularly in take away food packaging and hygiene supplies. With an increase of people working from home business’ have had to diversify and change their business models and offer products and services to suit a more domestic market. These changes in market conditions have led to an overall increase in sustainable take-away food packaging. The demand for good quality food and drink delivered to your door will not diminish, in fact it will continue to increase.”

“When the pandemic hit in March Go-Pak had to react very quickly to changing market demands for PPE and in April we launched ‘Go-Hygiene’. Our customers wanted to ensure continuity of supply over the long term and through Go-Pak’s robust and agile supply chain we have managed to deliver clear powder free vinyl gloves and protective face masks as part of our new range.’’  Mike Bristow (Group Sales and Marketing Director).
